In celebration of the artist and musician Rory McEwen (1932 – 1982) who turned two cottages in Fogo, near Marchmont, into studios we are creating a special Artist Residency programme in his memory.
His extraordinary artistry: manifested in music, painting and sculpture is a symbol for the creative DNA of the McEwen family and the community they built at Marchmont.
The residency will support those wishing to focus upon specific projects and those aiming to develop new ideas without the demands of deadlines or public presentation. We welcome self funded residents and also those who wish to apply for support via the Marchmont Makers Foundation.
We hope to raise £5000 via a special Just Giving page which is now live. We are grateful for any support you can offer in helping us create this special opportunity for today's artists and creatives.
Applications for funded places will be via an ‘Open Call’ to ensure as many artists as possible have the opportunity to participate.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugo Burge.
